The Comet 500 Series Torque Converter is based on the Old Salsbury Clutches. It will handle up to 25 Horsepower 2 Cycle Engines and 16 Horsepower 4 Cycle Engines. The Model 500 Driver Clutch and Driven Variable Pulleys are installed in a power train drive system to better match output requirements with an engine output. If the engine is allowed to run at it's peak output power, the most power available from the engine will be directed to the driven shaft. The Comet 500 responds to load requirements and changes the ratio between the drive and driven pulleys so that the engine can maintain it's peak power output. Uses a Symmetric .920" Top Width Belt Engagement: 2100 RPM. Driver Clutch Diameter: 5-3/8" 3-Roller Cams. Calibration: Spring Ramp and Weights.
